President Jim opened the meeting with God Bless America and The Pledge. He also provided the inspirational thought for the day.

Perennial guest Bill Audley; also Rhonda Shaffer with the Boys and Girls Club and Rich Berry who heard about us from the business expo.

Committee Reports and Announcements

Fundraising-Ralph announced that the admin fund will be raising money by selling business card advertising for our on line bulletin as in the past. It is $100 for the year. Sign up to renew or as a new advertiser.

They are also raising money with a Baby Raffle. Guess when Nancy Leavitt will have her Baby. According to Nancy she hopes it is "soon".

Dick Schmitt is ready to submit our roster to the printer for the new year. If you think your info should be changed, contact him ASAP.

Bruce Jorgensen announced a spaghetti feed Wednesday evening (Oct 21) at the Boys and Girls Club sponsored by them as a thank you for us putting on the Bike Rodeo. This will also be a brainstorming session for next year's Bike Rodeo.

Bingo tonight-the Green Team with Larry West as captain.

YCPO's Alyson Batchelder-Bestle has asked everyone to sign up to provide the invocation/thought for the day at one or two meetings during the year.

Prez Jim Carney -told some funny biblical jokes

Alyson Batchelder-Bestle -Kudos to whoever made the Job Fair Brochure for our recent job fair booth

Vaughn Hagen -Bragging dollar after having won a gold medal at the World Senior Games in the 50-54 age bracket with a softball team he used to play with from Juneau, Alaska.

Dick Zagelow -Enjoyed setting up the booth for our Kiwanis club at the job fair.

Lyla Tjoelker -Enjoyed her trip to CA but didn't like the rain.

Bruce Jorgensen -Thanked Jim for his efforts in getting our club into the job fair.

John Howe -Happy to have had his photo in the Kiwanis magazine as one of the board of directors of the Kiwanis International Foundation-Congratulations John!!

Barb Audley -also graced us with a joke.

Nancy Larsen -Glad our club "finally" had an article in the Bellingham Business Journal (since she submitted it about four months ago).

Ralph Gardner -Big Kudos to Jim C and Dick Z for their efforts with our booth at the job fair.

Barb A won but couldn't find the Joker. The pot is up to $461 (000), or so, but must be present to win! !

Program

Lee Worth of the Whatcom County Drug Court. This is a drug program for the chemically dependent non violent offenders and is a one to two year program. The program is very cost effective. It is also very strict. If an offender breaks any of the rules, they are put back into the traditional justice system (i.e. jail).

    Bellingham Kiwanis Wayside Park Fall Cleanup

    It's Fall! and the Bellingham Kiwanis got the park ready for winter by cleaning and upkeep at the Bellingham Kiwanis Pocket Park.
