Bellingham Kiwanis SoundingsOctober 30, 2007President Dick Z opened the meeting, Lyla lead the group singing America, and Barb gave the invocation Committee Reports and Announcements:Alson B-B asked that members who know of members who are ill, please let her know so that cards can be singed and mailed. She also distributed a sign-up list for the weekly invocation. Emily noted that Kiwanis International was putting out a call for California Relief. Funds collected will be used by Kiwanis clubs in California to help with the relief efforts for the victums of the fires. Jim C encouraged all to bring guests and tosend the committee prospects. Community Service: Bruce J was already working on the April One Day Event Happy Bucks $John E had a great time on his cruise. Lots of sun, lots of fun. Nancy L had a concern dollar for her brother who lives in Southern California close to the fires. Alyson B-B was thrilled to having had sweet potato frys. Bob M was happy to be back from jury duty. He was not selected for a trial./p> Dick ? was happy that Norma visited his family. Barb A was sad that her husband, Lt Gov. Bill Audley, was in Casper Wyoming. But she is also happy that next week she takes off to Hawaii. It was not clear if she would be in Hawaii while Bill is in Wyoming. If so, she got the better deal. Ticket Drawing -After the ticket was drawn, a number of last tickets were sold. After much confusion, Al won the drawing, but not the card. Program:President Dick Zagelow introduced Jeff Rickey of Airlift Northwest. Airlift Northwest has been in operation since 1982. They provide airlift service in Skagit County, Island County, Whatcom County and the State of Washington. Over the years they have moved 66,000 patients |
