Elizabeth also announced a special " Funds" Committee meeting at the Samish Way I-Hop House of Pancakes at noon on Friday, October 13th. We will discuss the dues structure, Administration Funds and where we are with Bingo at the Elks.

Vaughn Hagen announced the Foundation meeting time has been changed to Monday, October 22nd.

Happy Dollars:

Ralph Gardner put up a buck asking a Bingo question: "What is the $$ Ball" Jim tried to tell us but was disqualified. Vaughn seemed to be the only one to come up with the answer.

Vaughn Hagen gave a happy $ for his Mom's 80th birthday.

Al Dale put up $5 to tell us about his recent "winning" 3 day trip to Victoria, B. C. Sadly he also explained about a friends passing away and the remembrances for that.

Jan Armstrong tossed in a $ for the happy weekend attending her son's birthday and adventures at Chunky Cheese.

Ham Hayes paid a $ - something about "build a bear? Sorry, that one got away.

Barbara Audley was $1 happy about getting Bill to spend a weekend down on the Washington Peninsula. Another $ was for their oldest daughter and working at the Golden Nugget.

Lyla Tjoelker put in a buck for her recent trip to Tacoma.

Bruce Jorgensen tossed in 2 bucks - one for seeing his brother and his family, another for his brothers discovery of the ship, W S Barrow where his father served during WW II.

Nancy Larsen gave a buck commemorating our struggle at the Elks Bingo game.

Rich Emerson then said Nancy suggested holding "Walker Races" at Bingo. President Zagelow had to pry a $ from Rich for that one.

Elizabeth Bennett gave a happy buck for her weekend in Victoria, B. C. and a fun Canadian Thanksgiving with turkey.

Jim Carney put up $1for his son being baptized, and another $1 for getting over the point that a Conference was not required.

Jeri-Ann Bungard paid a $1, not necessarily because she was happy or sad, but because the others at the table did.

Drawing:

Jeri drew a ticket for Mike Yeend but alas, not the right card. Mike won a buck though.

Program:

Mary Kay Robinson was introduced by Barbara Audley. Mary Kay is the Executive Director the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra. Mary Kay is a former teacher and banker with a Masters Degree in Business.

Mary Kay discussed her recent completion of a 26-mile marathon and the 6-month training and the battle required to finish. She called it her "Marathon for Music" and turned her efforts into a fundraiser dedicated to the Whatcom Sympathy outreach for Children.

Mary Kay discussed changes in our culture toward economics, sports and entertainment and away from great artists and musicians. Culture is feely available and is important in developing complete human beings. What do we want our children to be?
